Tai takes on the winter novices
The former Scorpions ace was at the Eddie Wright Raceway to present prizes at the penultimate meeting of the winter series.
And with a rider short in the open category, Woffinden took the opportunity to sneak in some practice of his own.
He breezed to victory in all five of his races in preparation for much bigger and better things to come this season.
He will be making his debut in the world grand prix series in Poland towards the end of April. He is one of only two British riders in the 15-strong world field – the other being Chris Harris of Coventry.
There was a strong field in the open class of the meeting at Scunthorpe and it was Danish rider Peter Juul Larsen who secured victory in the final.
He headed home Scunthorpe Saints' riders Ashley Birks and Steven Worrall while Mildenhall's Matt Bates took a tumble.
The final round of the winter series is set to take place next Saturday with a 1pm start.
Admission is free for spectators.
Tai Woffinden.
