Flyers downed in rare loss

LEAGUE leaders Brumby Hall Flyers suffered their first defeat in 11 weeks during a 3-2 loss to Waddingham.

John Lawrence's 47 break gave the Flyers an early lead, but Merv Page, Tim Cousins and Jim Cousins sealed the win for Waddingham.

Scunthorpe Cons Rocketeers kept up their challenge when they beat Rileys Crystals 4-1 on the road.

There was no change at the top of the first division after both leading teams won comfortably.

Hibaldstow Empsons took the honours at Winterton, 4-1, while Cottage Beck Hamlets reeled off four straight wins to beat Jeff Cundy AA and stay one point behind the Empsons on 73 points.
