Anderson's 'relief' as saga ends

BARTON Town boss Dave Anderson has expressed his 'relief' after the club's recent turmoil was finally brought to an end.

Despite some good results on the pitch, winning four of his first seven matches, the start of Anderson's reign has been marred by off-field matters.

The Swans were originally punished for breaching FA rules by trying to sign more than one player from the same club within 28 days.

The NCEL registrations of those players, all from Anderson's former side Westella and Willerby, were then suspended.

But the decision has now been overturned and Barton will be able to select the players for tomorrow's match at home to Worsborough Bridge.

"It's a bit of a relief to finally have it all over with and be able to get on with the football again," said Anderson.

"Our preparations for next season start in earnest now.

"Everyone can move on and we can start building to have a real good go at this league next season.

"We want to finish as high as possible and finish in good form so that we can take that into next season and start off on the right foot.

"We have only lost one in seven since I came here so we have been doing well – we just need to keep that going.

"We'll start over again and the lads now being available is a big boost."

Full-back Chris Garth, centre-backs Lee Shiletto and Callum Radley, central midfielder Andy Bagshaw and striker Matt Fyviy will all go into the Swans' squad.

Playing against bottom side Worsborough would seem to be the perfect game to make their returns, but the Barton boss is taking nothing for granted.

"We have found that there are no easy games in this league," he added.

"We played (17th-placed) Eccleshill a few weeks ago and they gave us a good game.

"We want to get everything in place so we can be playing further up the league next season."

Anderson is likely to be without right-back Josh Neilson for tomorrow's match but he has had a double boost with the news that keeper Dave Bramley should shake off a thigh strain, while winger Jason Moody has signed permanently from Unibond side AFC Frickley.
