Keeping it all in the family at Holme Hall
The first three places were all family affairs.
In first place was father and son combination Keith and Chris Graham with their partners Steve Dalton and Martin Urry with a nett 55.
Second place went to brothers Andrew and Stephen Sowerby with their partners Carl Donson and Nick Wynne with a nett 55.4.
In third, another set of brothers, Rob and Andrew Carpenter with their partners Paul Borrill and Kev Paxton with a nett 56.
Fourth and fifth places went to Steve Spavin, Trevor Johnson, Terry Fernside and John McArthur (nett 57.5) and Trevor Atkinson, Roger Gamwell, John Spencer and Brian Spriggs (nett 58) respectively.
The ladies played an Am-Am Stableford Waltz. The winners were Jean List, Enid Meadows, Sue Brown and Doreen Bowring with 75 points.
Second place went to Joan Hammond, Diane Dewe, Judy Kelsey and Kay Smith with 72.
In third, Jill Haresign, Jackie Walker, Sue Bancroft and Marion Belton with 68. And fourth place went to Sue Bassindale, Shirley Wynne, Elaine Farmery and Joyce Robinson with 67.
The ladies also played the fourth and final round of the Detuyll Cup. The winner was Rosemary Cranidge with 35 points, pipping Margaret Grimwood on the back nine.
The overall winner of the Detuyll Cup, with two cards to count from the four rounds, was Emilee Taylor with 71 points.
The men's section at Normanby Hall played the February monthly medal over a 16 hole course.
Winner of group 0-12 was Richard Whiteley with nett 63, while group 13 to 18 saw Lee Barber win with nett 57 and Phil Medley took the 19-28 with nett 54.
The seniors played round five of the Telegraph Shield, also over 16 holes.
The winner was Tommy Hill with 37 points, ahead of Terence Raynes (35) and Richard Carton (34).
Hill again came out tops in round seven of the Trophy World competition with 36 points, pipping Len Porter on a card count. Third was Bill Sharp (33).
Twenty ladies played a Texas Scramble, with a winning foursome of Jill Ridley, Pauline Hennessey, Marie Drinkall and Sue Brown scoring a nett 40.
The February Stableford attracted 14 ladies, playing over 16 holes.
Joanne Oxby was the winner with 34 points from Trish Baggaley (33) and Jill Ridley (30).
The juniors also played their February medal, also on a short course, with Olly Kirman winning with a nett 59 from Jonathan Peters (63).
Meanwhile, there was a large turnout for the February Early Bird competition at Grange Park.
Brian Taylor and Chris Watson led the way with a nett 59 from club captain John Wilks and partner Maurice Bell (60), who edged out father and son Terry and Chris Kirton on count back.
The seniors played the fourth round of the Winter Cup, a stroke play competition played over five rounds.
Jim Brian won the spoils, with Les Brailsford second and John Whitelam third.
